Functionality are a stunning 13-piece party band based in West Sussex, England - with that something extra special.
So what's so special about us?
Well, you need to hear us live to really appreciate that, but the extra dimension the band has over many other bands (and of course, recorded music) is the sheer dynamics - courtesy of the Functionality horns.
Visually, there is nothing more impressive than a band of this size playing live to make your function stand out from the rest.
And of course, don’t forget our vocalists! Fronting a band of this size is no mean feat – so expect great vocals, great personalities and great fun too!
What about the music we play?
Our music, carefully chosen to provide superb entertainment, includes a number of tailor-made arrangements written especially for us to highlight Functionality’s full potential as a real powerhouse!
We play a mixture of covers including: Let Me Entertain You; Mustang Sally; You Might Need Somebody; I Don’t Feel Like Dancing; Hot Stuff; Dancing In The Street; Valerie; Ladies Night; Soul Man; Son of a Preacher Man; Lady Marmalade; plus many more great party classics - essentially songs that you can't sit still to and that get people dancing! We like to think of it as 'feel good' music!
We can also provide swing style music, made popular in the 50s by artists such as Frank Sinatra and revived in recent years by Robbie Williams, Michael Buble and others. This style of music best suits ‘black tie’ events – particularly where the dancing follows a sit down meal when the guests can require some persuasion to get up and dance after eating a 3-course meal! By starting with some laid back swing and building into some more up-tempo jive numbers, guests can sit back for a while, before finding their dancing feet! It is also a great idea for weddings, where the age of guests can be more diverse. By providing a wider selection of styles, the band will appeal to even more of your guests! Of course, this mixture of styles will not suit every event, so we will only include the swing set at the client’s request. Let us know when you contact us if this is an option you wish to include!
